Numbers with their meaning intact.

Australian migration planning data is easy to misread. Quota AU keeps the program year, source date and policy definition attached to every figure.

Three datasets.
No false comparisons.

Planning levels, nomination allocations and activity-to-date answer different questions. Each gets a separate page and definition.

Primary sources only.

Each number links to the responsible government page. Search snippets, agent blogs and screenshots are not source-of-truth inputs.

Read the label first.

Short answers to the distinctions that most often get lost when figures are reposted.

Is a planning level the same as a visa quota?

No. A planning level guides program delivery. It is not a personal entitlement, an invitation guarantee or a promise that a category will grant exactly that number of visas.

Are state nomination allocations visa grants?

No. The Department says allocations are the number of new primary applicants a jurisdiction can nominate. They do not determine the number of visas granted in that year.

Why are some figures from 2025–26?

The federal 2026–27 planning level is published, while the latest Home Affairs state-allocation table available at our review date remains the 2025–26 table. We label the program year beside every number.
